Samsung Announces its Third Wearable The Galaxy Fit

Samsung Announces its Third Wearable The Galaxy Fit

Samsung Announces its Third Wearable, The Galaxy Fit
Anyone who thought Samsung has had enough with wearables at the MWC was wrong. There is indeed a third Gear, called the Gear Fit.
The wearable is aesthetically the most-pleasing of the lot. Its 1.84? rectangular curved AMOLED display gives it a touch of the future. The resolution is quite modest at 432 x 128. It comes in three different colours with changeable rubber straps and weighs just 27g.
Just like the Gear 2 and Neo, the Fit also runs on Samsung’s new Tizen OS. Samsung has paid some special attention to make the device a perfect fitness tracker. You get a built-in heart sensor, pedometer and step-counter.
Huawei also announce its First wearable device that name is Talkband B1.
The Fit can’t take calls but it does display your notification on your wrist. It also syncs with the Galaxy S4?s S-Health app.
Connectivity is done with Samsung phone via Bluetooth 4.0. (Sorry, no NFC.)
Finally, just like the Gear watches and the S4, the Fit is IP67-certified, which means water-resistance for up to 30 minutes under a meter of water, apart from dust-resistance. Battery life is said to last up to 4 days.
The Fit is said to be released in April but pricing details aren’t revealed as of yet.
Given its pleasing design and integration prowess, it is safe to say that the wearable can give the Fitbit Force and Nike+ Fuelband SE a run for their money.

Sony Announces Its Latest Flagship Xperia Z2

Sony Announces Its Latest Flagship Xperia Z2

Sony Announces Its Latest Flagship, Xperia Z2
Sony seems to be Google’s most-active Android partner right now, churning out new flagships every few months. It seems not long ago that it announced its Xperia Z1 flagship and now here’s the Z2.
The upgrades made over that phone aren’t ground-breaking but welcome nonetheless. All the people who just brought a Z1, we sense, won’t be too happy right now. But with Sony, you never know.
The display here is a 5.2? Full HD, slightly larger but with the same resolution. The real bump comes in the panel’s technology. Rather than using the same dull unit as the Xperia Z and Z1, Sony has instead chosen a new Triluminos IPS display which uses a technology called Live Color LEDs.
These displays also use Sony’s Bravia tech, made popular via its televisions.
Under the hood, you find a new quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3Ghz. That’s accompanied with 3 GB of RAM.
At the back is Sony’s famed 20.7 megapixel Exmor RS camera with f/2.0 aperture which now also shoots 4K videos at 30 frames per second. It also has a few clean tricks under its belt. Timeshift is a new feature which allows you to shoot and edit slow-motion videos. A dedicated mode for Vine videos and background defocusing is also home.
The front boasts a 2.2 megapixel Exmor R shooter. The Z2 is powered by a 3,200 mAh battery. The OS running on board is Android 4.4.2 KitKat, customized obviously by Sony.
Being a flagship phone, the phone is monumentally thin – just 8.2mm – and looking at its size, weighing a marvelous 158g. And as you’re already guessing, the phone is IP58-certified, meaning you can take it underwater with you without a worry in the world.
Here are the full specs of the Xperia Z2:
  • Android 4.4.2 KitKat, customized by Sony
  • 5.2? Triluminos IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and Bravia tech
  • 8.2mm thick
  • Weight: 158g
  • 2.3Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU
  • 3 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage, which is expandable
  • 20.7 megapixel main camera with 4K video recording at 30fps and LED Flash
  • 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera with Full HD video
  • 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, microUSB 2.0, USB-OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, G{S
  • 3,200 mAh battery
  • Available in Black, White and Purple
The new Xperia Z2 will be available for 600 Euros or around 86,000 PKR at its launch in March. Sony does sweeten the deal further by adding its own, MDR-NC31EM noise-isolating headphones in the package.
So if you already own the Z1, the Z2 may not be as tempting and we really don’t think that the device is worth upgrading to. If you don’t, then we propose waiting up a bit until Samsung and HTC have announced their competitors to the phone, which we think are probably coming in the next one or two months.

HTC Announces its Mini Flagship The One Mini 2

HTC Announces its Mini Flagship The One Mini 2

HTC Mini-Flagship, The One Mini 2
HTC’s latest smartphone is not exactly “mini”, but condenses the best bits of the flagship One M8 into smaller, more manageable package. The HTC One mini 2, despite an awful name, continues the Taiwanese company’s focus on premium materials and solid build quality that won it a GSMA Global Mobile award for best smartphone in 2013, and critical acclaim for the larger HTC One M8.
“We believe that one size doesn’t fit all,” Graham Wheeler, HTCs head of product told the Guardian. “We’ve seen people wanting a smaller, cheaper phone than the One M8, but when you go down a price point you shouldn’t get a product that hasn’t had as much time and detail put into it as the flagship.”

Curved Metal
HTC Mini-Flagship, The One Mini 2

The One mini 2 has the same solid curved metal back as its bigger brother, which felt great in my hand – more so than the One M8, because it is smaller and fits better in the palm.

Mobilink Allows Its Users to Buy Pepsi Drinks With Mobile Balance

Mobilink Allows Its Users to Buy Pepsi Drinks With Mobile Balance
Mobilink has partnered with Pepsi to launch new kind of vending machines, which will allow Mobilink users to get their desired drinks from the machine while paying through their available mobile balance. How does it sound? Interesting enough, isn’t it?
Here is how they are doing this:
Customer sends a blank SMS to a short-code, which in return sends a unique PIN code to be entered into the vending machine. After authorization the machine will get you the desired drink while money from your Mobilink balance will get deducted.
Mobilink has started to deploy such vending machines in Lahore and Islamabad, mainly in the universities. But we believe the idea can replicated at various other locations and for other consumer products as well.
Paying through Mobile Balance can altogether become a new payment channel for variety of things, ranging from Cinema tickets to website hosting payments.

How To Use This Service

Send a Blank SMS to the following short codes for your desired drink:
  • Pepsi: 7054
  • Aquafina: 7055
  • Sting Bottle: 7056
By sending a blank SMS to any of above short-code, user will get a 7 digit PIN code through SMS. Enter this PIN code into Machine to get your desired drink.

Pricing

Following are the prices that will be deducted from your mobile balane:
  • Pepsi: Rs. 35
  • Aquafina: Rs. 25
  • Sting Bottle: Rs. 55
There are no additional charges for the service. You will be charged price of the product only with no taxes involved.

Note:

  • This service is available for Mobilink prepaid and postpaid customers
  • A user cannot vend more than 5 drinks in a day
  • All complaints/Queries will be entertained by the Pepsi vending machine helpline: 051-2256166
  • Machine will not dispense the drink if it is switched off or if the keyboard is not responding
  • Do not press the vending selection button if red light is on. It means that the product is out of stock.

Sony Announces Its Flagship Tablet For 2014 The Xperia Z2 Tablet

Sony Announces Its Flagship Tablet For 2014 The Xperia Z2 Tablet

Sony Announces Its Flagship Tablet For 2014, The Xperia Z2 Tablet
Sony has announced its new flagship tablet for 2014 at the MWC, the Xperia Z2 tablet. In case you’re wondering, ‘tablet’ is officially a part of the name too.
Sony is calling its new baby the thinnest and lightest waterproof slate in the world. At just 6.4mm thick and 439g heavy, the aesthetics of this tablet are really inspiring, even if the bezels are a big wider than we would’ve liked.
IP58 certification further sweetens things up.
The front is home to a 10.1? Full HD display. Apart from borrowing the name from Sony’s flagship smartphone, the tablet has also borrowed the display tech, namely, the Triluminos IPS panel with X-Reality engine.
Under the hood, you get a 2.3Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and Adreno 330 GPU, along with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable storage.
At the back of the tablet is a 8.1 megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor, HDR and 1080p Full HD video recording. A 2 megapixel 1080p front-facer can be found too.
NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio and microUSB 2.0 with MHL 3.0 take up the connectivity responsibilities. The tablet’s speakers are also moved to the front to form a new S-Force Surround Sound setup. For all the gamers out there, Sony is bringing official controller support for both its Z2 products.
The Z2 tablet runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. A 6,000 mAh battery powers the tablet up. Just like the Xperia Z2, Sony will bundle this tablet along with a noise-isolating headphone too.
Pricing details are unknown as of now but considering the Wi-Fi version of the original tablet went up on retail for $499, we don’t think pricing for this one will be much different. The Z2 tablet will be available in either Black or White.

Huawei Announces Its First Wearable Device The Talkband B1

Huawei Announces Its First Wearable Device The Talkband B1

Huawei Announces Its First Wearable Device, The Talkband B1
Huawei is one of the quickly-rising manufacturers from China and its desire to reach into as many industries as possible shows in its latest creation, a wearable, the Talkband B1.
The wearable focuses on fitness and will compete more with products like the Nike+ FuelBand SE and Fitbit Force rather than the Samsung Gear 2 or the forth-coming Apple iWatch.
The front of the Talkband B1 comes with a 1.4? OLED display, which is also flexible. That is powered by a 90 mAh battery which lasts 6 days but surprisingly also takes 2 hours to charge. The device is 14.6 mm thick.
The Talkband B1 features a popping-out earpiece for making phone calls. Connectivity is done either via NFC or Bluetooth 4.1. It is also IP57-certified so you wouldn’t care less about water and dust.
Being a fitness-tracker, the device calculates the amount of calories you’ve burnt, counts the number of steps you’ve taken and your sleeping habits.
Connectivity with a phone is mandatory right now and we don’t yet know how many phones are currently supported. A microUSB port is built-in right into the band. The Talkband B1 will be available in 6 colours.
The wearable will be available starting from next month for $135.
Talkband B1 is for people who want a fitness device for keeping track of their calories and stuff so if a smartwatch is all you want, you should probably stay away.
