Update HTC One M9 to Official Marshmallow Firmware with Latest RUU File

Update HTC One M9 to Official Marshmallow Firmware with Latest RUU File

Update HTC One M9 to Official Marshmallow Firmware with Latest RUU File

htc-one-m9
HTC One A9 and the M8 devices received official Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware from the manufacturer last month. HTC releases firmware updates in the form of large RUU files. The files weigh nearly 2 GB. However, the installation is pretty simple as compared to other devices from various manufacturers. Here, we have listed the latest RUU file for the HTC One M9 device and is a maintenance release from HTC that also incorporates the latest Marshmallow firmware.
This software upgrade comes in the form of two sequential updates. The first update will install software version 2.11.617.180, which does not include theAndroid OS upgrades. The following update will install software version3.35.617.12, which includes the changes to the Android OS.
Before you proceed, please confirm that this software upgrade to 3.35.617.12 is a newer version than what is currently loaded on your device. If it is the same version, there is no need to reload the software. Navigate to the Home screen, then tap All apps > Settings > About and locate the Software information. If your Software number is less than 3.35.617.12, you should proceed with theupgrade.
Take a look at the official HTC portal to know more about the update, changelog, and installation instructions.
Warning: During the upgrade process the device will reboot multiple times and show software upgrade screens. Do not remove the AC charger or long-press the Power button as this might stop the update and your device may be rendered inoperable! We, at DroidViews, won’t be liable for any damage to your device whatsoever. We won’t be held responsible if you brick your device. Reader’s discretion is advised.

  • Latest RUU File for HTC One M9 — Download | RUU version 3.35.617.12 [2.14 GB]
  • Latest RUU.zip file  — Download | Will be updated here once available
Backup Apps and DataThis process wipes all of your data. Hence, a backup is highly recommended. Make sure you backup your system, data, etc. on your PC. It will be helpful in case anything goes wrong.

Prerequisites

  • This guide is compatible with various HTC One M9 device.
  • Do this if you use Method 2 or 3. Set up ADB and Fastboot on your computer. You can download the full Android SDK from here, or get the quick ADB and Fastboot installer from here. For Mac or Linux OS, click here. You may also like HTC Fastboot tool for the HTC devices.
  • Install HTC USB Drivers on your computer.
  • Open Settings> Developer options and enable USB Debugging on your device.
  • Go to Developer options and enable Allow OEM unlock, if such an option is available.

Method 1: Restore HTC One M9 to Official Marshmallow Firmware with RUU.EXE File

If you have the RUU.EXE file, then the above methods won’t work for you and the flash process will be comparatively easy. The zip files have been extracted from the RUU.zip files. To go through this process successfully, make sure you have the latest HTC drivers or the HTC Sync installed. Connect your phone to your computer and launch the RUU.EXE file. Follow instruction from the RUU program.
Listed below are the alternative methods to install the RUU files. However, you will need the RUU.zip file for that purpose. Once the zip file is available, go through the two methods below and it should update your device in no time.

Method 2: Restore HTC One M9 to Official Marshmallow Firmware with Fastboot

  • Download the RUU zip file. You don’t need to extract the file. just transfer the file to your PC where you can easily locate it.
  • Make sure you have setup ADB and Fastboot on your PC. Also, accept Always allow from this computer when you plug in the device for the first time to enable USB Debugging.
  • Now power off your device and unplug it from your PC.
  • Boot into the Bootloader or Fastboot mode. To do so, turn off your device and then press and hold  volume down + the power button simultaneously for a few seconds. When you see the bootloader screen, connect your device to the PC using a USB cable.(Choose Fastboot if option is available) For an alternative method look at the end of method 1.
  • Navigate to the location where you have placed the RUU file. Rename therecovery file to a simple one, like htc_am9_ruu.img. While the folder withhtc_m9_ruu.img file is open, hold the shift key on the keyboard and right-click on an empty space and select “Open command window here” option to launch a cmd window.
  • Now issue the following command in the command prompt to check your device connectivity
fastboot devices
  • Now flash the RUU. Issue the following command for that.
htc_fastboot flash zip <file name>.zip
  • Now the firmware will start installing.
Once you have installed TWRP, you are all set to install custom packages onto the device’s system. Alternatively, on Linux or Mac OS, you can issue “./htc_fastboot flash zip <file name>.zip” command to flash the RUU zip file.
How to boot into bootloader or Fastboot mode using ADB
You can also issue the following command through your cmd or terminal, while connected to the PC, in order to boot into the bootloader. First setup ADB and the Fastboot environment from requirements and then follow instructions till step 5. Once into the command prompt or terminal, issue the following command:
adb reboot bootloader

Method 3: HTC One M9 to Official Marshmallow Firmware with RUU.ZIP File

Here is an alternative method for installing the RUU.zip file.
  • First, rename the RUU zip file to “2PQ9IMG.zip”, save it at the root of your external SDcard.
  • Reboot the phone in bootloader mode. Refer to the method one in order to boot into bootloader.
  • Now it will start scanning the SDcard and detect the 2PQ9IMG.zip file.
  • When asked, “Do you want to start update?”.
  • Use your volume Up/Down key to start or cancel the flash.
  • Wait for the process to complete and don’t turn off your phone during the flash.
Once you successfully update your phone software, you can now enjoy your stock firmware.

HTC Announces its Mini Flagship The One Mini 2

HTC Announces its Mini Flagship The One Mini 2

HTC Mini-Flagship, The One Mini 2
HTC’s latest smartphone is not exactly “mini”, but condenses the best bits of the flagship One M8 into smaller, more manageable package. The HTC One mini 2, despite an awful name, continues the Taiwanese company’s focus on premium materials and solid build quality that won it a GSMA Global Mobile award for best smartphone in 2013, and critical acclaim for the larger HTC One M8.
“We believe that one size doesn’t fit all,” Graham Wheeler, HTCs head of product told the Guardian. “We’ve seen people wanting a smaller, cheaper phone than the One M8, but when you go down a price point you shouldn’t get a product that hasn’t had as much time and detail put into it as the flagship.”

Curved Metal
HTC Mini-Flagship, The One Mini 2

The One mini 2 has the same solid curved metal back as its bigger brother, which felt great in my hand – more so than the One M8, because it is smaller and fits better in the palm.

NEW! HOW TO COPY ALL POSTS FROM ONE BLOG TO ANOTHER

NEW! HOW TO COPY ALL POSTS FROM ONE BLOG TO ANOTHER

This article is about how to copy all the posts from one blog to another, using Blogger.
Image result for NEW! HOW TO COPY ALL POSTS FROM ONE BLOG TO ANOTHER
For Blogger Blogs Only

To copy all the Posts from one blog to another, you need to export them from the first blog, and import the file that was created into the second file.

Any Pages in the first blog, need to be moved individually, because pages arent currently included in the export file.
If you want to totally replace the contents of the destination blog with the contents of the source blog, then you should delete the existing posts from the destination blog before you import the file.  (NB   Delete posts by going to the Posting / Edit Posts screen, and pressing the Delete button that is beside the post.   Dont delete the entire blog, or you will lose access to the URL).

Follow these steps to copy all posts from one blog to another

1  Log in to Blogger.

2  Go to the export tab from the  Settings / Other tab.

3  Click on Export Blog.

Export-blog window on the old Blogger interface:
the new interface looks a little different, but has the same links

3a  If you are using the new interface, click Download Blog on the confirmation message window:

4  Your computer will download a file.   For Windows users, it will probably be put in the My Documents / Downloads file.  Or you system may use another place, or it may ask you where to put it.   Whatever happens, you will need to know where this file is saved to.

5  Open the blog that you want to move the posts to
(You may need to log out and in again, or perhaps just switch to different browser or tab)

5  Delete (using Posting / Edit Posts) any Posts that are already there, but which you dont want in the refreshed blog.

6  Go to Settings > Other and click Import Blog.  When the box opens, choose the exported file that you made earlier, and enter the security-text.
Import file selection screen in the new interface:
the old version of Blogger is very similar.

7  Choose whether or not to automatically publish all imported posts.
Only tick the box if you DO want the posts automatically imported.   If you dont tick it, the posts will be loaded, but with have status of Draft, so wont be visible by readers until you publish them.

8  Click Import Blog.

9  Check that the import worked successfully, by looking at the blog, and also at the list of posts under Edit Posts:  are the right number of posts there, do they have the right labels etc.

Results

All the posts from the source blog will be copied to the destination blog.

Many of the post characteristics will be the same as in the original blog.

This includes:
  • title
  • post contents
  • published-date and time
  • label(s)
  • post-author.

Any comments from the source blog will also be copied over - sometimes it takes a few hours for the links for them to be re-establshed properly.

The URL for each post will be based on the URL of the blog you have imported them into and the publication-date that the posts had in the source blog - for example:
www.YourNewBlogName.blogspot.com/2017/13/name-based-on-post-title.html

Any internal links in the blog will still point to the post in the old blog
For example this link points to a popular article in SlausTec Blog
If I export-and-imported this post into a new blog, the link would still point to the same place, ie the post in SlausTec Tz1 - not to the post in the new blog.

Any pictures, videos etc in the old blog will still be in the same place that they were in (Picasa-web-albums, YouTube, Google Videos etc).

If you have imported more than the number of posts that Blogger allows per day (currently 50 I think) then to make any more posts today you will need to complete the captcha-test (ie entering the letters in the funny-shaped word).   This will go away approximately 24 hours after you last enter more that the maximum-posts-per-day.

Importing to the same blog

If you try to import posts into the same blog that you exported them from, Blogger will not import any posts, and give you an error message.

If you do want to do this (eg to create a duplicate set of posts), then do the export, change some small detail of the original posts title or date/time, and then do the import.

Silhouette School Live Tickets Now on Sale For One Day Event

Silhouette School Live Tickets Now on Sale For One Day Event

I get requests weekly to come teach here, there, and everywhere and while my answer 99% of the time is, "I don't organize events, I just go where I'm invited...." we've decided there's so reason we can't host a one day event in our own back yard (I don't mean literally our back yard...). And so I'm thrilled to announce a limited number of tickets are now on sale for the first ever: Silhouette School Live.

Eeek I can't wait to tell you all the details!
