LG has announced the successor to the aging G Pro in the new G Pro 2. The phone comes with a larger 5.9? display, a Snapdragon 800 processor and a 4K-shooting camera.
The display comes with Full HD resolution and is 0.4?larger than its previous iteration.
The phone itself is quite an attractive-looking package with thin 0.33cm thin bezels and a screen-to-frame ratio of 77.2 percent.
Under the hood, you get a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26Ghz, along with 3 GB worth RAM and either 16 or 32 GB internal memory, expandable via microSD.
At the back is a13 megapixel camera with OIS+, LED Flash and 4K video recording. You can also capture Full HD or slow-motion videos. A 2.1 megapixel camera can be found at the front.
The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat which is customized by LG and comes with a few software tricks of its own. The most interesting of the lot is knock code, which allows the user to unlock the display by drawing any one of the 86,000 or so unlocking patterns or so on the display.

LG has announced three new smartphones in its Android range under the L Series III banner. The handsets lie in the upper-end, mid-range and lower-end categories respectively and feature design inspired by the company’s premium G series.
All of them come with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed which is quite a plus. They are named L90, L70 and L40 based on their importance.

LG Series III L90

The top-end phone of this lineup comes with a 4.7? IPS display with qHD resolution. Under the bonnet, you get a 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, alongside 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, expandable via microSD.
At the back lies an 8 megapixel shooter with HD video while the front carries a 1.3 megapixel shooter too. The phone is 9.7mm thick and is powered by a 2,540 mAh battery.

LG Series III L70

The L70 lies at the center of the entire range. It comes with a 4.5? IPS display with 480 x 800 resolution.
Under the hood, you get a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor along with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB expandable storage. The back features a 5 megapixel camera.
The phone is powered up by a 2,100 mAh battery while it comes with an unflattering 9.5mm waistline.

LG Series III L40

This phone lies in the bottom-end of the newly-announced range. It packs a 3.5? display at the front with 480 x 320 resolution.
Underneath, you’ll get a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB expandable storage. At the back lies a lonely 3 megapixel cameras.
While the phones feature nothing particularly earth-smashing, if priced appropriately, they might open a new outlet for entry into the smartphone market. And don’t forget that LG is the exact company that brought us the last two Nexus phones.

LG has announced the mini version of its G2 flagship, the G2 Mini. Don’t get fooled though, this isn’t a mini just by name only.
The specs are not even close in some instances to its older sibling. On the front, you get a 4.7 inch IPS LCD on the front, with qHD resolution.
Beneath, a 1.2Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor can be found, accompanies with 1 GB worth RAM and 8 GB expandable storage.
At the back lies an 8 megapixel camera which does 1080p videos too, coupled by a 1.3 mp HD camera at the front.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, FM Radio, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. A 2,420 mAh battery powers up the phone.
The OS running on the phone is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, customized by LG. Here are the full specs of the phone:

The phone will be available starting from March for an unknown price tag. While it is sold as the smaller version of the G2, the mini is not really worthy of that title. Just like the Galaxy S4 Mini, it is a mid-range device with a name destined to sell millions.
Until now, then, only the Z1 Compact has excelled at doing that which raises the question that if it is possible for smaller makers like Sony, why not for worldwide leaders such as Samsung and LG?
